Rob Fleming was an artist of considerable talent. He was a member of the Texas Wild Bunch, a group of professional artists specializing in Texas subjects such as native wildlife and pastoral scenes. From 1990 until his untimely death, Rob was an illustrator and fine art manager with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD).
On April 1, 2003, two days after Rob died, Cecilia Nasti, wrote:
Back in January, Lisa Wheeler interviewed Rob Fleming about his work as an artist at TPWD in general, and his work on the Wildlife Stamps in specific. .... I thought you would all like a chance to hear the piece which, at this juncture, is a lovely tribute to a man who gave the best part of himself each day to his work - and we were all the beneficiaries. He will be missed.
